What is the Right Size?
Our studio is best known for our large portraits and paintings. The majority of our clients come to us in order for us to capture something truly special so they can display that art piece on their walls.
So selecting the right size is very important!
Right after the session you will enter our proofing room where you’ll be able to see your images projected large on the wall. Once you choose your favorites that’s when we guide you to the right sizes.
- In the art world, you never want to lose connection with the subject’s face. So think about it, the smaller those faces appear the easier it will be to lose that connection.
- Rule of thumb is that you never want the face to be larger than the spread of a hand and no smaller than the size of your fist.
- It also must fit the spot you will be displaying the portrait. If hanging it over a piece of furniture, that piece should be at least 50%-85% the length of that furniture. You never want it to be too small however it shouldn’t hang over either.
These guidelines and tips make that decision making process so much easier. We are here with you every step of the way.
